Where should the “Contact Us” link be?

On every website of any company or organization, there is a “Contact” section that contains as much contact information as possible, information about working hours, etc. Probably, everyone has noticed that the link to the contacts in the main menu is most often placed last. Many developers will say that this is the norm in web design. But why?

The answer to this question can be found by studying the behavior of visitors on the site. All links are divided into two types: informational and action links. Contacts belong to action links. They encourage the visitor to make a call to the company. However, no user visiting the site for the first time will immediately call you. First, they will familiarize themselves with the descriptions of the necessary products/services and their prices. Let’s assume the prices are satisfactory to the buyer… The next step will be visiting the “About Us” page. The user will want to ensure that they can trust you. Only after that will the visitor click the link to your organization’s contact page.

The actions of any visitor on the site are predictable. The first is entering the site. The second is searching for products or services. The third is getting acquainted with the company, and the fourth is calling the company.
